Domestic quantities of household recyclable items such as glass containers, rigid plastic household containers, aluminium cans, paper, cardboard and steel cans are accepted free of charge at all Waste Transfer Stations / Resource Recovery Centres.
Green waste may be deposited at Avenel, Euroa, Nagambie and Violet Town Transfer Station / Resource Recovery Centres for the standard tipping fee. Domestic quantities of mulched greenwaste may be taken from these sites free of charge. If mulched greenwaste is required by ratepayers, it must be self loaded and is taken at user's risk. The quality of the mulch is not guaranteed by Council.
These items are not accepted at Council facilities.

Whitegoods include refrigerators, freezers and air conditioners. These items can be taken to Avenel, Euroa, Nagambie and Violet Town Transfer Station / Resource Recovery Centres. A charge applies for any whitegoods that have not previously been degassed.
Motor oil is defined as combustible engine and gear oils only. Domestic motor oil will be accepted at Euroa, Nagambie and Violet Town transfer stations. Only quantities of 20L or less will be accepted.
drumMUSTER is a national program for collecting and recycling empty, cleaned metal and plastic farm chemical containers.
All drums must carry the drumMUSTER logo and be clean, dry and free of checmical residue (rust and dye stains are acceptable).
If you need to bring in more than 20 drums at one time please contact Council on 1800 065 993 to arrange a suitable time.
Strathbogie Shire works closely with the Goulburn Valley Waste and Resource Recovery Group (GVWRRG), to maximise recovery of resources and reduce the amount of waste going to landfill.
GVWRRG is the link between state, local governments, community and industry and is responsible for facilitating a coordinated approach to the planning and delivery of infrastructure and services for all waste streams including municipal solid waste (MSW), commercial and industrial waste (C & I) and construction and demolition waste (C&D).
The organisation has a central office located at Shepparton to service the Goulburn Valley waste and resource recovery region. The region extends from the Victoria/New South Wales border through to the outer suburbs of Melbourne and encompasses the following municipalities:
