Mitchell McAuley’s ‘Architecture, Then and When’ Exhibition
Throughout February, Jacobsons Outlook in Nagambie will host its next ARTBOX exhibition, ‘Architecture, Then and When,’ by Australian artist Mitchell McAuley.
The exhibition will be open from January 29 to February 24, 2025.
Showcasing a collection of framed works on paper and sculptural pieces, the artwork explores the influences of many forms of architecture. Mitchell created these works during his time in Bologna, Italy, as well as in Longwood, Victoria.
The pieces are inspired by architecture in Italy, blending historical influences with new ideas for future buildings.
Mitchell’s experiences living in Bologna between 2010 and 2015 add a unique perspective to his work, mixing European and Australian architectural styles.
Strathbogie Shire Mayor, Cr Claire Ewart-Kennedy, expressed that Mitchell’s exhibition gives us a chance to think about how buildings and spaces are designed.
‘His work combines the past and the future, showing us how architecture can continue to evolve, and we are proud to present his exhibition in Nagambie.’ Mayor Ewart-Kennedy said.
Mitchell McAuley has exhibited his work in Melbourne, Sydney, Hong Kong, and Bologna. His art brings together the themes of space, design, and the world around us in a meaningful and creative way.
