Help Shape Strathbogie Shire’s Tomorrow
Ever wanted to put into words what you love about the town you live in? Even better, have input to Council’s direction for the next four years? You have the opportunity to do this right now.
Council is in the early stages of reviewing and updating several key strategic documents: Community Vision, Council Plan 2025-29 (incorporating Municipal Health and Wellbeing Plan), Financial Plan, Asset Plan, Revenue and Rating Plan, and Budget. This planning work enables Council to balance competing community needs and make decisions that are fair for all as well as being required under the Local Government Act 2020.
Council is excited to launch ‘Our Community Our Future’ with a series of community engagement sessions to inform the development of these plans and we are inviting all community members to share their insights and help shape the future of our vibrant community.
The feedback Council receives through community engagement will help identify the priority focus areas for Strathbogie Shire over the next four years. It will help guide the organisation and highlight how we will work with the community, key stakeholders, and other levels of government to deliver on community aspirations. Community involvement at an early stage is critical to ensure these priority areas represent the community’s hopes over the life of the plan.
Mayor Claire Ewart Kennedy said, “Engaging with our community is vital for shaping a future that reflects our shared values and goals. This process only happens every four years, so we encourage as many residents as possible to participate and help shape the future of our Shire.”
“It is important that our community feel heard, understood and that their input is reflected in the final documents. We want our community to feel proud of Strathbogie Shire and excited about our future and this work allows community members input into the future of our region.”
Engagement sessions offer a valuable opportunity for residents to share their perspectives and priorities on a range of important topics. Together, we will explore key questions such as:
- What would you want our Shire to look like 10 years from now?
- What are your biggest concerns for Strathbogie Shire’s future?
- What would you like Council to achieve in the next four years?
- What would a great partnership between Council and you, our community look or feel like?
- How could Council support healthier lifestyles for you and your community?
- What does great customer service from Council look like to you?
