Plastic Time Monsters to educate children on waste

Thursday, 12 December, 2019

Strathbogie Shire Council is proud to present ‘Attack of the Plastic Time Monsters’, a free theatrical comedy show for kids of all ages happening at the Euroa Community Cinema on Thursday 16th January at 2pm.

Attack of the Plastic Time Monsters is a fast-paced performance raising awareness about littering and ocean health.

Created and performed by two of Melbourne's finest comedians and aimed at children of all ages, this show has universal appeal for young and old.

The play follows the story of two best friends who have been sent back through time to save their world from total annihilation.

The dreaded plastic time monsters are hot on their trail. Can they deliver a message to the people of Earth that will change the course of history and save their oceans?

Strathbogie Shire Mayor Cr Amanda McClaren said the show provides a great educational activity for children of all ages these school holidays.

“Our community is really kicking goals when it comes to waste diversion and climate action, with a ranking of number two out of 79 local government areas for waste diversion and some fantastic initiatives already completed as part of our Sustainable Strathbogie 2030 Strategy,” Mayor McClaren explained.

“Educating young people about waste and caring for our environment is so critical to continuing the great work we are doing as a community to ensure the future health of our planet, especially as we continue to see the impact of climate change.”

“If you’re looking for something fun and educational for your children to enjoy these holidays, this show is a must!”

The show had an extended sell out season at La Mama and Melba Speigeltent at last year’s Melbourne International Comedy Festival.
