Council injects over $80,000 into community projects

Strathbogie Shire Council will award $80,000 worth of funding to 22 different applicants through the 2018 Community Grants Program.

Grants were awarded to a variety of applicants, with categories in active and healthy community, arts, culture and events, environment and sustainability and facilities and infrastructure.

The following applicants and their projects were successful in receiving funding:

  • Violet Town Community House- Water feature and mosaic in Community Garden
  • Avenel Heritage Writers Group- Digital publication of Avenel Heritage Information
  • Euroa Arboretum- Bush Tucker Day with Taungurung Clan Traditional Owners
  • Euroa Basketball Association- Outdoor basketball half court at Lions Park
  • Violet Town Gallery Museum Inc- Art gallery space fit-out
  • Gooram Soldiers Memorial Hall- Maintenance and Emergency Response Project
  • Euroa Junior Football Netball Club- New netball court seating
  • Violet Town Recreation Reserve- Children’s playground competition
  • Ruffy Recreation Reserve- New post and rail fence
  • Strathbogie Voices- Twilight Hawkers’ Market 2019
  • Avenel Pools Working Group- Shade structure
  • Nagambie Petanque Club- Storage facility
  • Longwood Community Centre Management Committee- Completion of oval fence
  • Avenel Heritage Story Board Group- Avenel Heritage Story Boards
  • Ruffy Artfest- Ruffy Artfest 2018
  • Euroa Agricultural Society- Repairs electricity supply Charles Street Poultry Pavilion
  • Euroa Hockey Club- New hockey equipment
  • Euroa Lawn Tennis Club- Clubroom floor restoration
  • Avenel Recreation Reserve- New floor coverings in canteen areas
  • Violet Town Bowls Club- Interior painting of clubrooms
  • Violet Town RSL Sub Branch- Centennial Memorial Mural
  • Avenel Bowling Club- New computer and printer

Euroa Arboretum was one of our successful candidates in last year’s program, which allowed them to enhance the bush kinder play space with some innovative furniture
