Strathbogie Shire communities talk culture

Monday, 9 July, 2018

Strathbogie Shire Council recently held a number of Community and Culture Workshops across the Strathbogie Shire to talk to the community about what culture means to them and how it can benefit residents, businesses and visitors.

Feedback from these workshops will inform a Culture Strategy, which will be the shire's road map to becoming a more vibrant, sustainable and connected community.

Manager Tourism, Arts and Culture, Claire Taylor said the workshops were highly productive and inspiring.

“The workshops generated fruitful discussions that captured well considered ideas and insights about arts and culture in the Strathbogie Shire,” Ms Taylor said.

“There is a wealth of ideas, knowledge and experience out there in our local community and we want to harness this to inform our strategy; it’s not too late to be a part of the conversation,” she said.

If you’d like to get involved, please visit www.oursay.org/strathbogie and complete the survey and/or contribute to the discussion forum.

The Strathbogie Shire OurSay platform is a new tool Council is using to consult with the community for ideas, questions and feedback in relation to projects and initiatives, as part of a concerted effort to increase community engagement.
