221 millimetres of rain fell in the Strathbogie Shire region between Friday 1 and Sunday 3 December 2017.

Euroa was the hit hardest in the shire, receiving a total of 160 millimetres, with 146 millimetres falling on Saturday; the highest daily rainfall in 132 years.

The water level in the Seven Creeks reached 5.1 metres, significantly exceeding the major flood level of 4.7 metres.

Council made a Natural Disaster Funding Claim to State Treasury for recovery of essential public assets.

Since the flood event, Council and contractors have been out and about assessing the extent of damage to scope and packages repair works.

The identification and assessment phase of the flood recovery is now coming to completion, with over 1000 defects identified to essential public assets across the shire and damage costs projected at close to $7 million.

Council is now focused on the construction phase, with majority of works expected to be completed over the next six months.
