Celebrate Children’s Week 2025 Across Strathbogie Shire

Strathbogie Shire Council is excited to invite children and families, to celebrate Children’s Week 2025 from 18–26 October, a national celebration recognising children’s talents, achievements, and rights. This year’s theme is: “Everyone should know about Children’s Rights.”

Mayor Claire Ewart Kennedy said: “Children’s Week is a special time to celebrate the creativity, achievements, and rights of our young people. These events bring families and the community together and give children the chance to shine. We are proud to deliver these activities with support from the Flood Recovery Hub funding, helping our community recover from the 2022 floods while creating fun, safe experiences for children.”

Events Across the Shire

Sleeping Beauty Pantomime – Avenel

A hilarious, family-friendly pantomime for all ages. Free entry; bookings essential via http://tiny.cc/pantomime

Nagambie Children’s Art Show

Showcasing the creativity of primary school children. Entries close 22 October. Prizes awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.

Funding for Children’s Week 2025 events is provided through the Victorian Government’s Flood Recovery Hub, supporting the ongoing recovery from the October 2022 floods. These funds allow the Shire to deliver safe, inclusive, and engaging activities for children and families while strengthening community connections.
